About My Clients

My therapeutic approach is relational, compassionate, direct, deep, and transformative. I believe in the strengths of all the people I see, and I work to build a therapeutic relationship that examines all aspects of their humanness. I believe in building connections and fostering trust in a safe and meaningful environment can bring about healing. It is at the core of who I am as both a member of the LGBTQIA community and as a Person of Color that I approach therapy through a lens of integration.

My Background and Approach

I identify as a black, queer, nonbinary human. I have found peace and strength in building connections within both the LGBTQ community as well as within the black community. I consistently commit myself to dismantle racist and bigoted norms society use against my own communities and others. I strongly align myself with other communities to educate others on the impacts of white supremacy, and hate. I aim to support others in helping them build their own sense of awareness on how to expand liberation, and work to decolonize traditionally Eurocentric or heteronormative spaces. I also pride myself on continually learning to educate myself in building my own self-awareness and paying attention to my own biases and privileges that impact others around me.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My personal beliefs are that everyone can benefit from the change at any moment in their lives. I believe that all aspects of humanity including the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual all matter i and thus should all be taken care of. I believe that our mental health is one of the most vital components of that process and who we are. As a result, learning to identify maladaptive behaviors and replace them with healthy ones is key. As a child and even today, I live actively with a generalized anxiety disorder that has been something I have had to learn to not let it control me. I believe therapy, and the process of learning and implementing new skills help with managing it and managing aspects of your own life can be done. I am an active supporter of BLM movement and openly work to support anti-racism in my community.
