About My Clients

I work for Black & Pink National, a prison abolitionist organization dedicated to abolishing the criminal punishment system and liberating LGBTQIA2S+ people and people living with HIV/AIDS who are affected by that system. The individuals and families I work with have experienced stigma and discrimination because of their gender, sexuality, or HIV status. They have been impacted by systems of control--prisons, detention centers, "mental hospitals", foster care, etc.--often for generations.

My Background and Approach

My approach is to meet people where they are, to listen deeply to what they want for themselves, and to work collaboratively with them to create a healing plan. I use Narrative Exposure Therapy, EMDR, and Internal Family Systems to help clients process and make sense out of their most painful and traumatic experiences. I use an attachment-based and collaborative approach to help them define and create the lives they wish to live.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that the basis of therapy is a meaningful relationship between the therapist and the individual or group they are working with. I care deeply for each or my clients and consider them to be valued members of my community. I believe in showing up in honest and authentic ways. I believe in my clients. They are the experts and ultimate authorities on their own lives, and I believe in their capacity to grow, heal, and thrive.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
