About My Clients
HOLY MOLY you're an adult now? Are you struggling with the demands of transitioning from teen years to adulthood? Having to establish a stable identity, prepare for a career and transition into the workforce? Are you feeling discouraged, irritable, insecure, afraid and indecisive? This is especially true for those who begin their adult life with substance use, emotional disorders, and codependency. Exploration of your identity and managing anxiety can help you develop confidence in yourself.
My Background and Approach
I will help you discover who you are using creativity and imagination. Breaking away from the family and finding your place in the world can be challenging. Together, we will work to change the system of anxiety by challenging negative self-talk, and replace your internal dialogue with healthier thinking. My goal for you is to have at least 5 different techniques to ground yourself whenever you feel overwhelmed, stuck, or worried. I am direct, nurturing, and compassionate while we address those negative feelings. Gradually reducing the intensity of depression and anxiety while we face your fears and insecurities in a safe and comfortable environment. Throughout my work at youth shelters and drug rehabs, I have taught clients about effective communication skills, forming healthy relationships, identity exploration, and creating SMART goals.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in using our struggles to further enlighten our future possibilities. I think a healthy dynamic between a therapist-client can repair childhood wounds and traumatic experiences. Especially for those who grew up without guidance and support. Which means that I think you can heal, recover and learn new ways of living. I believe in being authentic in all aspects of my life and use humor, silliness and jokes to build connections. I am a part of multicultural community program that strives for equality, acceptance, and tolerance for all races, SES background, and religions.
