About My Clients
Many of my clients have experienced significant trauma that have changed and have been changing their lives. It can be one incident, a series of incidents, past or ongoing, in childhood, adulthood, or both. Trauma shows up in daily living, ability to work or go to school, and relationships (friends, family, and partners) that have immobilized clients to move forward. My clients may readily want to share their stories or may even find it difficult to connect with their emotions.
My Background and Approach
With the Social Work background, I look at and understand your experiences at individual, family, community, society, culture, and systemic levels. I seek to understand your challenges and remove barriers for support. I learn from you about your world as a start. As a relational therapist, I value the strength of the trust and safety in the therapeutic relationship that creates a basis for the art of trauma work. I incorporate EMDR therapy in my work to deepen the healing process for trauma through imagery and somatic work. I am an EMDR trained clinician and continue with my learning and training to bring a relief of symptoms for my clients with complex trauma.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I started my practice with the vision and purpose in mind that clients who get connected to my group will receive consistent quality care with the dream of not losing their therapist in their journey. Being able to stay with one therapist whom you had a strong connection is a luxury at times. I emphasize the continuity, flexibility, and self-care in both clients and clinicians.
