About My Clients
Young adulthood can be a difficult time filled with challenges at home, school, and with friends. Depression, anxiety, and substance use, as well as other mental health issues often present themselves at this time. For parents, it can be hard differentiating between challenges that are expected for your child’s age and those that indicate more significant concern. For teens, the challenge might be intensified by an inability to understand and describe their experiences. OpenMinds can help.
My Background and Approach
We specialize in therapy with children, teens, and young adults. If we work together, we’ll come up with a treatment plan that taps into the why and how that’s keeping you stuck, and then learn new skills to support you moving forward in your life and relationships. Our style is personal, collaborative, and caring, and we believe our relationship is fundamental to supporting your positive transformation. We work with a variety of presenting issues and integrate evidence-based treatment modalities into my practice including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I also provide parent coaching, which is particularly helpful when children and teens aren’t ready for treatment.
