About My Clients

You deserve a life full of connection, joy, and meaning. But trauma, loss, or a life transition, has got you feeling… off. Maybe your thoughts are harsh and won’t stop racing, or you feel depressed and the best part of your day lately is those several seconds before you fully wake and remember how stuck you feel. How you show up for others is suffering and it hurts. You have been coping with this pain in ways that you don’t love and you are ready to take a new step towards healing. Let’s talk.

My Background and Approach

I believe wholeheartedly that our minds and bodies tend towards healing and wholeness, but life's wounds can create barriers to this process. My privilege as a therapist is to connect and support you in identifying and moving past these barriers. I began my career in a residential treatment setting working with adolescents and their families through complex trauma. I have also provided therapy in a University counseling outpatient setting, as well as a short-term inpatient crisis stabilization setting. Along with my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Colorado, I have sought out specialized training in EMDR and Trauma-Focused CBT, specifically because they are proven modalities for treating trauma (among other issues). I am no stranger to trauma personally or professionally and have made it my life's work to help people heal from the past so that they may be more present and joyful in their lives.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Many people share the frustration of finding the right therapist. I know from my own experience that the search can be draining on your time, money, and willpower. For this reason I want to name a few of my own core values as a therapist for your information, with the intention of supporting your search for the right fit: 1) Be a real human. Connection heals, and my mission is to provide gritty, authentic healing for the real world. 2) Helping is sacred. I have (and continue to) put in the work to build an evidenced-based clinical toolset and take the privilege of helping others through therapy very seriously. 3) Never pass up a good opportunity to laugh. At its very best, good therapy can allow you to compost your suffering and grow a beautiful life in these rich soils. Tears can be an important part of this process, but so can laughter. 4) I am committed to intersectional cultural competence; LGBTQ+ and BIPOC individuals fighting the good fight, you deserve support and healing.
