About My Clients
Do you have disparate parts of your identity that you wonder how they fit together but inherently know that they do? Do you binge-watch shows and fall into fandoms to ignore the mountain of "baggage" that you know you have but low key pretend to the world like you're a functioning human being? I can help you embrace the pieces of your identity and help get through the backlog of "stuff" so that you can be free to live the life you were meant to live.
My Background and Approach
I received my BA in Psychology from UCLA and my master's in counseling psychology from Santa Clara University. I've worked for domestic violence programs, intensive outpatient program, and community based mental health. My approach to therapy involves a mix of creating a safe space to explore, dark humor, expressive arts, and a collaborative approach. We work on what you want to work on. In the process, I help you explore the parts that have been traumatized, hidden, or tucked away. In regaining access to those parts of ourselves, clients often share that they feel a vitality return to their life and increased meaning in their everyday life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As embarrassing as it is in our cynical, technologically driven world, I believe in people. I believe in people's capacity for change and I believe in community. I also believe that the terrible things that happen to people along the way prevent them from being their best selves. I am a bisexual, kink friendly, sex positive person. I support the polyamorous/non-monogamous and gender-expansive crowd. I am a geek at heart, love anime, aspiring cosplayer, and have (in the past) 100% used fandoms to ignore (and explore) my baggage. Suicidal clients are my jam and I love working with trauma. I know, I'm a weirdo. If you feel like a weirdo too, we'd probably be a good fit.
