About My Clients

Do you find yourself unable to therapeutically connect with a therapist who you can share your story with? I can understand & relate to that so I have made it a mission to meet clients where they are in their journey as well as hold an organic, non-judgmental and safe space to heal & express themselves. I work with kids, teens as well as adults who are working on addiction & recovery, marriage & family, anxiety, trauma, depression, life adjustments, domestic violence & racial/religious issues.

My Background and Approach

I am an LPC, ADDC as well as the founder here at Minaret Therapeutic Services. I am a multicultural, empathetic & goal-oriented individual originally from Canada but have lived in Colorado for over a decade now. I have a bachelor’s degree in Psychology & Sociology from University of Colorado & my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Colorado Christian University. I am a National Certified Counselor, an active member of the American Counseling Association & the Chi Sigma Iota Chapter for Professional Counselors. I am passionate about working with individuals, couples, families & youth. I use a combination of therapies to custom-fit what you need like traditional psychotherapy, Cognitive-Behavioral therapy (CBT), Faith-Based Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Person-Centered, Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP), mindfulness & positive coping strategies in a virtual, in-office or outdoor setting to suit your therapeutic needs.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I come from a open-minded, multicultural, Islamic background but have experienced and have been a part of many different communities within my lifetime. For an example, I received my masters at a Jesuit/Christian school so that I could obtain knowledge to help individuals with different beliefs than I so that I could become a better therapist and a more understanding person. Although it was challenging at times, I came out a better person. I believe that if we put ourselves in other people's shoes, we will be able to understand & empathize with their struggles which will hopefully lead to more compassion rather than scrutiny & judgement. So with that, I specialize, but not limited to, the POC, Muslim, Arab, Indian, African, LGBTQ+ & Christian communities. I stand with individuals from different cultural, religious, ethnic & lifestyle backgrounds because I believe that we are all deserving of love, equality, peace & happiness, no matter what we look like or what we belong to.
