About My Clients

My primary specialty is grief, loss, and trauma. I have worked with clients from a variety of backgrounds, in both group and individual settings, supporting them in their journey of navigating and reconciling with the loss they experienced. Additionally, I have experience with survivors of sexual abuse and assault, life transitions - such as moving to college, behavioral challenges, depression, and anxiety. Whatever the experience, I never want people to feel they are alone or unsupported!

My Background and Approach

It is most important to me that my clients feel safe, validated, and heard so I integrate modalities as needed but ensure the client remains at the center of everything we do together. I aim to work collaboratively on goals that you determine are most important, while also incorporating evidence-based practices that I know to be effective. I utilize narrative therapy and provide coping skills that can be used to mitigate anxiety. I also often use psychoeducation as needed - meaning, I provide educational information about how your brain and body are physically reacting to your experience. I find this is oftentimes deeply validating to have a real, tangible explanation for what you are somatically experiencing.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I firmly believe in the importance of an empathetic and inclusive society. I know that oftentimes those who are marginalized and oppressed have the greatest need for mental health care, and face the most insurmountable barriers to it. I have some pro bono and deeply reduced fee sessions available to those who are under/uninsured. I have been working to consciously become more anti-racist both personally and professionally. I also am welcoming and affirming of the LGBTQIA community and enjoy working with individuals who are navigating what can sometimes feel like a scary and isolating experience. I have personally experienced deaths of people close to me, which led to my passion for grief and trauma work and I am always amazed and humbled by the stories people come to me with, and trust me to hold with them. If you're not sure if therapy is the right thing for you, or if we would be a good fit, feel free to send me a message!
