Hi! I am an LSW and I am passionate and excited about working with people to support them in discovering their strength through adversity.

Most of us have experienced trauma in some form during our life. To that end, I incorporate trauma therapy, when appropriate, to consider how certain experiences may have impacted your mental, behavioral, emotional, physical, and/or spiritual well-being. We have learned that trauma can be passed on genetically in our families so it is vitally important to assess, process, and heal from traumas that may be even intergenerationally affecting you.
I find narrative therapy to be one of the most powerful tools we have. Whether you are grieving the death of someone or are a survivor of abuse, telling our story can be one of the hardest and most rewarding experiences. I never ask clients to share this immediately - I always first want you to feel safe in our therapeutic relationship - but when the time is right, I will likely ask you to write your story to be read, sometimes for several sessions, until you feel you are reclaiming your power.
In CBT, we look at how our thoughts, feelings, reactions, and behaviors are all interconnected. By being able to identify how each of these interplay, we can better work together to find alternative patterns that - rather than result in anxiety, fearfulness, depression, etc. - can alleviate these symptoms and help you not only identify triggers but provide yourself alternative/healthier coping mechanisms.
My primary area of experience is grief and loss due to the death of someone in your life. However, I have also worked with clients experiencing death of a pet, miscarriage, or grief from a divorce/end of a relationship. I find this to be one of the most rewarding parts of my job and I am humbled to be part of such an important and sensitive part of your journey.
I have worked with clients primarily experiencing challenges with transitions from high school to college, especially during the pandemic. There have been so many important changes happening in life that sometimes it is helpful to have someone to process and problem-solve with - that's what I'm here to do!
I have worked with several clients who are survivors of sexual abuse, some from childhood and others from adolescence. I enjoy helping these clients process what happened, reclaim their power, and integrate the experience so they can continue living life to the fullest.
