About My Clients

My private practice prioritizes the vast experiences of adolescent & adult transracial adoptees of various racial, gender, & sexual identities & adoption configurations (e.g. domestic or international; open or closed; cishet or LGBTQ+). However, I do welcome inquiries from others in the adoption triad e.g. birth and/or adoptive parents. I also serve formerly fostered folks, people of multiracial identities, those who were donor-conceived, & those who’ve experienced a NPE (non-paternity event).

My Background and Approach

As a transracial adoptee, much of my "journey" has been riddled with perplexing unknowns, often grasping for anything around me to make sense of fragmented storylines. However, after learning that many of the answers I was seeking outside of myself actually resided within, I now humbly act as a guide to my clients in actualizing their divine insight, wisdom, & power. While "emerging from the fog" and grappling with the complex mysteries of your life, I will journey with you as you heal, dream, and discover your highest intentions, pleasure, joy, truth, and freedom. Your work with me will also be held alongside values & an approach rooted in relational psychodynamic care, harm reduction, abolition, and decolonizing the mind, heart, & body. I am also a community meditation teacher with formal & informal training in various indigenous and earth-based practices, and I appreciate the integration of western clinical modalities with our original medicine & wisdom teachings.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am a domestic transracial adoptee and was raised by cishet white adoptive parents in a closed-adoption configuration in rural, conservative California. I identify as a multiracial, two-spirit, Indigiqueer with Aztec, Yaqui, & European ancestries. Understanding my own adoption story has been defined by agonizing bewilderment and continues to be an ever-evolving journey exacerbated by the implications of the US child welfare system. My process of reconciling identity & the woven experiences of privilege & trauma as a mixed-race transracial adoptee has greatly inspired my work as a therapist and is why I am committed to creating a private practice primarily for other transracial adoptees to arrive as they are and heal. However, I also enjoy supporting birth & adoptive parents, those who have experienced “DNA surprises” (e.g. a NPE), and anyone else who relates to the experiences of living between multiple worlds and realities. I “see” you, and I am here should you wish to reach out.
