About My Clients

Is life leaving you feeling anxious, directionless, or in need of support or guidance? I hear you. It might even seem like you’ve tried everything you know only to feel more confused or stuck than before. Suppose you could find a way through this, guided by your strongest and most true self. Individual therapy can provide a safe and validating environment to process your fears, recognize your strengths, build resilience, and come into your best self for life's next chapter.

My Background and Approach

Hi, I'm Andrew Wilton, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, psychotherapist, and graduate school professor in the Buffalo, NY area. I offer a collaborative approach to in-person and online therapy built on authentic human connection that supports you in reaching for strengths you already have inside. Through a growth-oriented perspective on generating fulfillment and abundance, we’ll blend the personal, social, physical, and transformational aspects of your story into a recipe for dynamic wellness. Rooted in the humanistic ethos, this is a safe and supportive place to co-create a new reality through your most meaningful personal stories. It can be difficult to take the next step in seeking support at a challenging time. I hope to make that process as safe and welcoming as possible. Reach out today for a free 15 minute phone consultation. You can share a bit about what you’re facing and I’ll share a bit about how I can help.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe in the full acceptance of open and transparent conversation about ourselves and our emotions, as well as the reduction of stigma around therapy and emotional, behavioral, and mental health. When I am not in the therapy room, I teach graduate social work students about the importance of empathy, positive regard, authenticity, and cultural humility in helping relationships. I am also a Certified Instructor with Mental Health First Aid USA, educating the college community on the importance of mental health awareness. When I’m not in my office or in the classroom, I enjoy time in nature, good food, movement, music, and creative flow. These things and more add value in my life. Let’s make time to find what adds value in yours.
