About My Clients
I specialize in adults who are looking to process through trauma as well as those navigating depression, anxiety, life transitions and personal growth. I like to draw from several different models to customize treatment plans specifically for the needs of each client. Additionally, I offer groups including Improv for Anxiety and Experiential/Expressive Arts for trauma, post-traumatic growth and resiliency.
My Background and Approach
Poet Maya Angelou wrote: "There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you". Opening oneself is a courageous and vulnerable act and I want you to know that I will provide you a space to explore at your own pace, and a place to feel known, heard and accepted as you journey in your healing. As part of the process I help you identify and foster your strengths while allowing you to explore your personal path to healing. I utilize talk as well as expressive arts therapies to meet your unique needs and comfort level. I am a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Professional Counselor and Mental Health Specialist Provider (LPC/MHSP) with a Master of Science (MS) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am a Certified Experiential Therapist (CET-1 #1058) and utilize the expressive arts as part of my practice. Additionally, I hold a Master of Arts (MA) in Speech Communication & Theater Arts and was trained in professional performance (AMDA) in New York City/Los Angeles.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My own story has cultivated curiosity and passion centered around the resiliency of the human person: mind-body-spirit. This awareness guides my approach within the field of trauma therapy, resiliency, and post-traumatic growth. I am passionate about our inherit resiliency.
