About My Clients

Was your ADHD not diagnosed until adulthood? Maybe you were told that you are “too much,” lazy, flighty, unmotivated, promiscuous, or even chaotic. A specific set of coping skills that many young women with ADHD develop is hyper-productivity and perfectionism, resulting in perpetual cycles of burnout. If you are feeling stuck, anxious, overwhelmed, and disappointed in yourself, it's time to untangle those messages you learned and stop the cycle. You deserve to heal.

My Background and Approach

In our work together, I will help you develop a solid understanding of ADHD and begin to unlearn all the messages you have been told about yourself and who you are. We will use an acceptance model and cultivate curiosity and compassion about your brain-based differences, as well as learning more about your abilities and strengths and where to implement them in your life. My work with clients is insight-oriented, uncovering patterns and emotions. We will often discuss the experiences you had in childhood, with your family of origin, friends, school and what you noticed in the world around you. When you work with me, you will focus on observation, reflection, and intention. Through our work together you will begin to respond to the demands in your life differently. You will engage in less people-pleasing , and your relationship with yourself will improve. You will practice getting comfortable with being seen, heard and known as your authentic self, no longer masking.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that mental health can and should be preventative. I don't think that we should wait until our bodies (or our minds) break to seek care. We go to gyms to maintain care of our bodies and it makes sense that we take the same special care of our minds. I was also not diagnosed with ADHD until I was an adult and I learned hyper-productivity and people-pleasing to keep myself from being vulnerable, but the perfectionism left me burned out and run down. Through my own therapy I learned how to prioritize my mental health and assert boundaries, and I wanted to help other women access that within themselves. I am passionate about women’s rights and gender equality. Continuing to learn and grow from new experiences and lively conversation with inspired people fills my cup. If you would like to learn more about how I can help you, just send me a message.
