About My Clients
Are you building a life for yourself (and your family- present or future) that different than the one you were given? Are you aware of parts of yourself that are in hiding? Are you wanting to become a parent but don't want to "do it like my parents did"? Some of my clients are becoming parents and others are looking to reparent themselves. Whoever you are, you are not alone.
My Background and Approach
My goal is to provide a safe, collaborative, and restorative therapeutic relationship so that you can do the work of learning to best support yourself and any relationship in your life. I primarily use techniques from Emotionally Focused Therapy, Feminist Therapy, Attachment Theory, and Internal Family Systems . I have a Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pacific Lutheran University. I have experience and training working with individuals, couples, and families taking time to see how their uniqueness informs their perspective and relationships. I enjoy watching relationships deepen and people accept their humanity more fully.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe we live in a country that is specifically set up to oppress many of us. This system is exhausting and asks us to dehumanize ourselves and others in order to maintain itself. We are all products of this system and with active choices can learn to slowly humanize ourselves, this takes practice and patience with ourselves and our loved ones. It's my belief that with a space to practice being human with no-judgment we are able to slowly integrate more fully into ourselves.
