About My Clients

Being a new mom/dad can feel so overwhelming, exhausting and confusing. You might be having intrusive thoughts that terrify you, anxiety that is disrupting your sleep and secretly feeling like you made a huge mistake being a parent. You may be processing a loss and feel invalidated/isolated. The great news is you won't always feel this way. Our time together will be spent exploring who you want to be, both as a person and a parent.

My Background and Approach

I am a firm believer that therapy is a partnership. As a team, we'll initially develop goals that are unique to your life and circumstances. Often times, this may look like us discussing what is occurring, identifying the root cause and looking at what we can change (whether it be perspective, support or actions). I have specialized training in working with the perinatal population, as well as in implicit bias and racism in birth work. My approach is eclectic, but is rooted in person-centered therapy. I often draw from CBT and strength-based therapy. Meeting a new therapist can be scary and intimidating. Please know that I am here to support and connect with you. I offer a free phone consultation so you can get to know me and see if we are a good fit. I look forward to growing with you!

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that everyone has the capacity for growth. I also feel very strongly that parents are often not given the support and resources needed to thrive during such a challenging transition. Parents don't hear, "you are not alone, you are not failing, and what you are feeling does not make you a bad parent" often enough. Many common new parent mental health struggles are stigmatized, which creates shame and guilt. I hope to use my platform as a therapist to fight against this stigma. You can see some of this work through our instagram @pushbaltimore and podcast Moms Uninterrupted. My other strong personal belief is that therapy should be accessible, inclusive and supportive. Each person has a unique identity and set of experiences. You deserve non judgmental space to process and grow. I hope to provide this space for you!
