About My Clients
If you want to learn more about yourself and your relationships, and become a more authentic, confident, and empowered person, therapy is a great first step. Whether you are navigating relationship transitions such as separation or blending, or you're struggling in your romantic, platonic, or familial relationships, I am eager to work alongside you. It can be difficult to reach out, and I'm here when you're ready.
My Background and Approach
I have a M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Colorado State University and have been a practicing psychotherapist for 2 years. I have experience helping individuals, couples, and families struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, past traumas, and changes in family structure. I have also provided support to many clients questioning gender or sexuality and wanting to build self-love and confidence. I am Gottman Method Couples Therapy Level 2 certified and can help you communicate with less contempt, criticism, and defensiveness, leading to more satisfaction in your day to day interactions and relationships. I also draw from emotion-focused, solution-focused, and cognitive-behavioral approaches. As a clinician, I take a systemic approach to treatment. I believe that where we come from, our health, those who surround us, and our past experiences all play integral roles in how we interact with others throughout our lives and within relationships.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a social justice oriented systemic family therapist, I take an approach that prioritizes and promotes equality, inclusion, judgement-free space, and affirming self-growth. I believe everyone has a different path of growth and change. Through my own therapy, I have learned more about what growth and healthy change looks like for myself. I am an active member of the LGBTQIA+ community, and prioritize being affirming of all personal identities across the gender and sexuality spectrums. I am a sex-positive therapist and am supportive of all relationship structures and styles. I recognize that not every person is meant for traditional relationships and family structures. Being from a large blended family myself, I have seen extremely successful non-traditional relationships and family structures. I love working with local rescues and fostering dogs. I adopted my own in 2020 and hope you get to meet him in the therapy room one day! He's the best!
