About My Clients
Are you someone who feels stuck? Do you feel like you have reached a plateau and just cannot reach those goals you have been trying achieve in your life? Your relationship is stale and you can't seem to revive it? I am the provider for you! So many people already know why they are the way they are, but cannot seem to move past it. Many of my clients are recovering from relationships with narcissistic partners, stuck in depression, trying to find a new path. I can help you get you onto the path.
My Background and Approach
I decided later in life to change careers from early childhood education and become a marriage and family therapist, as many of the parents wound up in my office, seeking advice on parenting, life and relationships. I have always been a solutionist and see things from a different perspective, that of an empath. I have had dynamic life experiences that make me relatable to my clients-challenges like the death of my parents, being adopted, being a single mother, fighting long-term illness, life transitions, surviving a marriage to a narcissist, and most recently, surviving a four weeks in the hospital in a coma and on a ventilator due to Covid-19. It has been a journey and I am more grateful than even to be here. I survived because as my family says, I have work to do here. I've helped a young man achieve his dream of performing in drag, and athlete overcome childhood trauma to become a champion, and saved some from toxic partners. I am an approved Gottman couples therapist.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As our world is ever-changing, more people already know how they got to the point of needing therapy. We cannot change the past but we can make a better future for ourselves. I see people as just that, who want to be loved, achieve goals, overcome adversity and not just survive, but thrive. I have done the work myself, to make smaller, achievable steps to rise from despair and reach whatever my goals have been. We all have the capability to do do things better. Every person can change their path. I am a very direct person and don't sugarcoat my words. Sometimes I am unconventional. My hope is to be unemployed, because my clients arrive at a good place in their life and no longer need me. Sometimes the road gets darker before the dawn and tomorrow is not promised.
