About My Clients

I work well with anxious people, as well as a variety of other issues. Grief is another area I have training and experience in and can support those going through this process. Additionally, I have skills in working with people for a wide variety of issues including things like adjustment to medical issues, perinatal mental health, work stress, trauma and PTSD, life transitions, family stress and relationship conflict and many others. I also enjoy working with health care providers.

My Background and Approach

I primarily use an approach that helps you embrace discomfort if it means you get to live the life you want. This may include learning skills and tools to manage distressing emotions/thoughts/physical sensations and having you leave with an action plan. It's important for us to work as a team and have you feel seen, heard and witnessed on your journey and in our time together. You are the expert in your life, and I am here to help you find the best path forward. Additionally, I have completed phase one and two of Brainspotting (BSP) and am working toward my certification in BSP. This intervention is an excellent tool to incorporate in sessions. It allows for the ability to find and process trauma and create movement where one might feel stuck. I’ve also done BSP trainings for perinatal issues and financial stress.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I know first hand what anxiety feels like, and have worked hard to shift my beliefs and focus around how I related it. I wouldn't ask a client to do anything I'm not willing to do and enjoy sharing personal examples to ensure clients that they are not alone in their pain. It's hard to feel isolated in your experience and I want you to feel supported in sharing your story. If I could wave my therapist wand and get rid of your pain, I would in a second. And I would get rid of mine too! Unfortunately, that's not something we can do. Pain is a necessary part of life and it shows us what is meaningful and important to us. Suffering is optional, and that's what we can work on changing. Let's climb that mountain together!
