About My Clients
I enjoy working with clients that are searching for their purpose in life, dealing with anxiety and stress, and wanting to process clients. Much of my experience is working with clients in emerging and young adulthood (18-35). My clients are often seeking better relationships, more assertiveness, and better coping skills in life.
My Background and Approach
The tools I have gained in my career are ones that are flexible to meet your needs. I have extensive trauma training and take a trauma informed approach to my therapy practice. I use science and art to influence my approach, and work with my clients on what best will fit there needs. I have taken speciality trainings on anxiety and trauma treatment, as well as teletherapy use and best practice. I am trained in providing EMDR and look forward to beginning other trainings to increase our diversity of treatment options. I believe training is never over and am always willing to learn new ways to help clients, working collaboratively to find the best fit for you. Most importantly, I bring the big picture into my sessions. I connect with social justice issues that impact my clients as we attempt to grow as individuals while acknowledging limitations of social justice concerns.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe many people learn behaviors as survival skills. Those that are unhealthy are ones that can be thanked and replaced with positive coping skills and safe relationships. I am a fierce advocate- including helping clients connect to financial resources, campus resources, and medical resources as needed. I enjoy working with clients in the LGBTQIA+ Community. I want to let people know that I am a safe therapist in my area. I also use my platform to advocate for free and easy to access medical affirming care, and provide this extra service for free to my clients. I love to read and enjoy true crime- which leads me to creative outlets with my clients and gives us a subject to talk about if we need to debrief! I also enjoy the occasional reddit and tiktok share :) I do not believe you need to have a diagnosis to go to therapy and so I do not take insurance- however, I do provide superbills for out of network reimbursement to assist with the cost!
