Empowering individuals and families to navigate life’s worries, stressors, and challenges to live wholehearted and stalwart lives

About My Clients

Are you tired of feeling more anxious, stressed, and overwhelmed than you want to be? Life is tough enough. People may think you have it all together even though you feel like a mess inside. Other times you may feel paralyzed by relatively small decisions. I want to get to know who you are and share realistic and do-able techniques to foster your sense of resilience, balance, and well-being. To get a sense of my approach & personality, check out episode 98 of the podcast Raising Boys and Girls.

My Background and Approach

I work collaboratively with clients and share tools to address anxiety, OCD, and other related conditions (for example, phobias, social anxiety, panic attacks, separation anxiety, hoarding, trichotillomania (hair-pulling), excoriation (skin picking), specific or generalized anxiety). I use evidence-based treatment approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure with Response Prevention (ERP), and mindfulness to address these concerns. I also utilize additional proven therapy approaches in order to create collaborative treatment goals with each client in order for them to feel increasingly hopeful and empowered in their personal growth. I completed my education and training at Vanderbilt and Stanford Universities, where I provided therapy and assessment services in a variety of settings, including outpatient psychiatric clinics, the Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt University, and the Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe everyone is doing the best they know how to do and believe that we can all continue to grow with some effort. I couldn't do this work if I didn't believe that. Since we innately don't have all the coping skills we need to handle the unexpected twists and turns of life, I feel passionate about sharing tools (that I use too) to help navigate life and work towards a more fulfilling and wholehearted sense of well-being. If you want to see if I may be a good fit for what you're looking for, please reach out to me. I provide in-person and telehealth sessions in Tennessee. Additionally, through PSYPACT I can provide telehealth to residents of several states in addition to TN (see my website for a complete list of states served). Outside of my work I enjoy hiking, going to the theater, cooking, and traveling to immerse myself in different cultures, to be in nature, and to meet new people.
