Living with chronic pain or illness can be isolating and scary. Women, trans and nonbinary individuals and people of color are disproportionately underdiagnosed and undertreated for chronic pain. This leaves many folks feeling unheard, not believed, and desperate to get their needs met. Evidence shows that there is a strong relationship with experiences of trauma, marginalization and oppression, and that the best treatment intgrates psychological and spiritual healing.

Oppression impacts our relationships with our selves and others, and our ability to feel safe and succeed. I'm committed to bringing this awareness into the room, and decentering dominant perspectives. This can mean exploring and unpacking messages about what your body should look like, how you should express yourself, or how your should spend your time. It may also mean connecting with unique cultural values and meaning making. And it often means finding our power and engaging in the fight.

Our caregivers may have been doing their best, but limited in their ability to attune to us. Often this can be due to patterns passed through families, chronic stress, or trauma. But these early experiences can leave us disconnected from parts of ourselves, or unable to feel safe or satisfied in our relationships. My primary goal is to create a secure, safe bond, so you can experience a new way of connecting.
