About My Clients
You are ready to dive in and explore the inner workings of your life in order to understand, heal, and thrive. You may find my services particularly effective if you are: - going through transition (career/livelihood, relational, geographical, physical, gender, financial, and so on), - wanting to heal past traumatic experiences, - seeking support for: learning or acquired physical disabilities, stress, anxiety, depression. *I do NOT accept or bill any insurances.
My Background and Approach
I use a you-centered, relational approach to therapy and enjoy meeting you right where you are at on any given day. I lean toward spiritual, nature-based (outdoor), mindfulness, and expressive therapies, alongside talk therapy. You are welcome to have sessions in the office, in nature (walk or sit outside and talk (depending on weather, accessibility, and comfort), and have some availability for phone/video session (not appropriate for every client/situation). I have extensive training in / experience with dream exploration, spiritual approaches to therapy, and therapeutic use of tarot (different from a "tarot reading"). Think of this in terms of symbolism and metaphor. I have been told I am very approachable, caring, direct, playful, use humor when appropriate, and always welcome feedback about what does / does not work for you. Clients who benefit most from my services commit to once weekly sessions, and may be an hour session or extended session, depending on your needs.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe our unconscious mind has a lot to share with us were we to listen; therefore, mindfulness and curiosity are valuable tools for increasing awareness and facilitating change in your life. I believe we all have a right to respectful and just treatment. And, oppression is everywhere. I am committed to social justice and decolonization of the mind, for myself and to help bring awareness to others who perpetuate it (typically, we all do). I welcome feedback about my impact on you if I unknowingly offend you. My aim is to be as inclusive as possible and continue to learn and grow. I am also a steward of the earth and animals, hence my focus on nature-based therapy. Any outdoor sessions will include both of us leaving no trace and respecting our environment. Also, in nature therapy sessions outdoors, you get the added benefit of nature as your co-therapist. Bonus!
