About My Clients

My Background and Approach
I have a background in working first with couples and families and will see the problems you face as related to the system with which you inhabit. I also have extensive training in trauma informed approaches such as EMDR, TF CBT and IFS. I will use these modalities to help you better understand the connection between your past and present. The central idea in trauma work is that much of the beliefs you hold about yourself now is rooted in the way you received messages earlier in life. We will work to reprocess trauma material that continue to impact the way you view yourself, and heal the younger wounded parts within. In so doing, the hope is that you will be able to release burdens that are no longer needed in your present relationships, whether that be romantically or in professional settings.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in first hearing about your story and then understanding what problems are prompting you to seek out therapy. Before meeting the problems, I am genuinely curious in meeting the person. I strongly believe that the quality of our therapy relationship will be a measure of how successful therapy is for you.
