Bevin DeMuth

I worked in multiple settings before settling into private practice in 2017, including psychiatry and behavioral research at Stanford University, schools, clinics, and hospitals. My passion is to work with adults and couples who would say they are doing "ok" or even "great" in several aspects of their life but need help, direction, or a new perspective in a specific area. As a therapist, my goal is to assess your needs, exclusively tailor therapy to meet your goals, and maximize our time to see/feel real tangible change. I utilize CBT, DBT, and ACT through an action-based, solution-focused, and client-centered lens. In our therapeutic partnership, we will understand the root cause of your struggles and address those issues with long-lasting strategies. It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling, happier life and embracing change. Growth and evolvement can’t be made by standing still….it takes moving forward. I believe no one has to feel alone and stuck. I believe everyone is capable of closeness and being vulnerable. I believe there is hope in finding the “right” one and relationship growth. I believe in the possibility of remedying communication and trust. I believe conflict can be positive and arguments don’t have to get “ugly”. I believe we are not stagnant emotionally. I believe in forgiveness. These days you can find me in the San Francisco Bay Area living with my husband, two children, and silver labrador, for the food and weather and my need to be near the ocean. I have had my own life journey too and can list my personal hills and valleys, the highs and the lows, moments of achievements and epic failures, but when it comes down to it, I’m a wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, foodie, health-conscious person, lover of outdoors, and a pajama-day enthusiast but not afraid of getting dirty and sweaty from hard work too.
