Mindfulness is one of the core principles of treating anxiety with a multi-modal approach (refer to section on Integrative Therapy.) Mindfulness is especially helpful in stress/anxiety reduction, acceptance, and observation without judgement. I center a majority of my continuing education on mindfulness-based training, most recently a course titled "Integrating Mindfulness Into Clinical Practice."

In most cases, I use a multi-modal approach to therapy. As a clinician I believe that our difficulties are best overcome using multiple treatment approaches. For example, when treating anxiety/panic attacks/depression, I use a primary combination of CBT, Mindfulness, and Solution-Focused Therapy. When helping individuals process trauma, I use a combination of Trauma Narratives/Reprocessing and strengths-based CBT. If you have any questions about this I will be happy to help!

I have experience treating individuals experiencing panic attacks my entire career. I also focus a large portion of my continuing education toward learning new and refining old techniques for treating panic attacks.

I have experience treating individuals experiencing many forms of depression my entire career. As with anxiety/panic, I also focus much of my continuing education towards treatments for depression. Depression can come in many forms - depression due to grief/loss, Major Depressive Disorder, depressive episodes in individuals living with Bipolar Disorder, depression due to stress, and so on. I am well-versed in being able to work with individuals in all of these circumstances and more!

Treating anxiety is my primary specialty. Anxiety, like depression, can also come in many forms. Whether it is general stress, chronic anxiety, social anxiety, academic/performance anxiety, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and others. I have worked my whole career treating individuals with many kinds of anxiety from a wide variety of backgrounds, and I look forward to being able to assist you in reaching your goals in managing anxiety.

CBT is one of the core principles behind clinical social work education and post-grad supervision. I also have continuing education in the modality of CBT as it relates to treating anxiety, depression, as well as psychosis.
