About My Clients

My primary clients are couples and adult individuals, especially those struggling with relationship and interpersonal issues. I find I work best with those who are willing to think outside the box and are open to trying creative approaches to problem-solving. My areas of interest also include premarital counseling, physical/sexual/emotional abuse, addiction, adult ADHD, depression, anxiety, career counseling, self-esteem, stress reduction, anger management, sexual issues, and life transitions.

My Background and Approach

In 2018 I obtained my Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology at Texas A&M University – Kingsville and since then have worked with a variety of client populations including those struggling with addiction, homelessness, inpatient/crisis, families, couples, individuals, groups, veterans, and children/teens. I tend to approach therapy in an eclectic way. By pulling theories, research, and therapeutic interventions from a variety of theories and treatment modalities I am able to create a counseling experience that is tailored to the needs of my clients rather than attempt to force them to fit into a rigid treatment program that may not be the best fit. My foundation is rooted in person-centered, strengths-based, and Trauma-Informed Care practices, and I also like to utilize aspects of Reality Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Positive Psychology, Narrative Therapy, Existential Therapy, Mindfulness, and more!

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that the person you are today is a result of all your past experiences – whether they be positive or negative. I strive to help people embrace their strengths, and find ways to turn their struggles into building blocks and learning experiences for the future. I also believe that while society is becoming more accepting of people utilizing therapy, we still have a long way to go to end the stigma toward seeking help! Therapy should be as commonplace as checkups with your primary care doctor. We shouldn’t feel like we have to wait until we are completely debilitated by our mental struggles to reach out, so I encourage everyone to be proactive when they can and don’t forget that it isn’t just your body that deserves some self-care.
