About My Clients
I enjoy working with all different types of people with varying concerns, however I specifically enjoy with with LGBTQIA+ folks, couples, teens, and adults dealing with depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, or struggling with life transitions. Everyone has a story, and it would be a privilege to hear yours. Let’s talk, I’d love to hear from you.
My Background and Approach
I take a strengths-based, and non-judgmental approach to therapy and offer a safe space to explore your past, present, and future. I provide fully affirming care with respect to your identity and lived experiences. I like to take a few steps backward into your past before we take off running for the future. My goal for you is to explore yourself, your identity, and whatever may be troubling you. Together we can build a personalized toolbox of skills to help you navigate your life and empower you to make impactful changes. I love a good metaphor, so if therapy is a road trip— you’re in the driver's seat, not me. I’ll be in the passenger's seat supporting you during this journey (consulting the map, and probably in charge of snacks).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
First and foremost I am a human. I believe that being human is everyone's greatest strength, but it can also make life difficult. I believe in providing safe spaces to experience our humanness, challenges and all. I take this work seriously, and always strive to advocate for my clients and educate myself. Social justice, and equity are two factors that are very important to me, and inform the way I practice. On a personal note, I am a queer therapist, love writing, reading, cooking, rewatching my comfort tv shows, and hanging out with my blind cat (who might make some appearances in our telehealth sessions).
