Bryce Downey (she/her)

I am a licensed mental health counselor specializing in earth-based healing modalities, grief, loss, and trauma-informed practice. I view each session as an opportunity to build and strengthen the therapeutic relationship, while providing collaborative space for you to define/redefine what you value in your life. In my work with individuals, families, and groups, I seek to understand what with assist each person in being heard and in more effectively communicating with the important people in their lives. Nature and ceremony are integral parts of my practice as our connection with the earth strengthens and affirms who we are and is the original co-regulator. Additionally, I utilize specific tools, skills, and strategies to empower each client to find what works best for them.

Everything we do is informed by our connections—what you hold as true, valuable, and essential. Our past and current difficulties, conditioning, and habit/behavior patterns will continue to inform how we act until we are able to acknowledge and heal or release them. By the time we enter adulthood, we have been steeped in the views and opinions of others, for better or worse. How we navigate this landscape, mitigate the damage caused, and make more conscious choices about our purpose is the work of a lifetime. There is no magic wand or pill that will cure everything. My dedication to this work is a reflection of the incredible value that lives in each of us, waiting for a safe space to be free. A very wise teacher once said, "This work is not for the faint of heart." Wanting to change our thought and behavior patterns, feel more connected and alive, and less controlled by past trauma can be scary, but it is by no means impossible, especially with community.
