Substance use can be hard to overcome. My approach with substance use is to first acknowledge what your relationship with substances would look like but using a hard reduction model. From there we will explore the reason for use, how to use safely, and how to obtain the support to stop use depending on your goals. Your recovery time-line is unique to you, and I am here to support you on your journey.
Depression can be very overwhelming and blinding. I want to help you develop skills and support to work through depression and minimize its impact on your ability to thrive. We will process thoughts and feelings, work on skills to help you fight back against the depression, while providing support in a safe place.
Anxiety comes in waves that are some times constant, some times random, and sometimes situational. Regardless of the reason for the anxiety I want to help you process the anxious thoughts, how that can manifest into physical symptoms. I want to work with you to fight back against anxiety and develop skills to combat the impact of anxiety on your life.
Depression can be overwhelming and blinding when dealing with. I want to help you process thoughts and feelings in a safe space. We will work together to develop skills to manage depression.
I want to work with you to help you understand anxiety and how to target negative thinking that can come along with anxiety. I will work along side you to develop coping skills and challenge negative thinking that will aid you in reducing impact of anxiety based symptoms.
Trauma therapy will allow us to understand the difference between a stress response and a trauma response. From there we will begin to explore coping skills that will minimize impact of trauma response and when to use them. After we have laid the groundwork we will begin diving in to the traumatic event. While discussing this event we will work on implementing the skills taught before hand so you are able to learn to identify triggers and reduce the impact.
ACT aims to help you stay present and in control of what you can change. It allows you to work through negative emotions so you can focus on healing rather than the negative thoughts/emotion.
CBT is especially effective against depression and anxiety but has benefits in treating a myriad of mental health diagnosis. CBT aims to target the thoughts and feelings we have when dealing with our mental health challenges. Through this we can identify patters in behaviors and thus begin making steps to creating healthy patterns that fit your life.
