About My Clients
Most of my clients are teens, young adults, and families. Maybe you are looking for help for yourself, or your child. You may be starting therapy for the first time, or returning for a change. No matter your starting place, Theraworks offers a space where you can feel validated and heard. I am excited at the chance to work with you toward an enhanced future.
My Background and Approach
Fostering a safe, open and trusting environment is fundamental to my practice. We will navigate exploring the past, emotions, relationships, and insights to your behaviors together. Leaning on my expertise in the field and your expertise on your life; we will work jointly to empower you toward: healing, the lifestyle you desire, deeper relationships, and your best self. To provide access to comprehensive wellness, I have certifications in nutrition and fitness that we can use talk about how gut and physical health impact mental wellbeing.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am originally from Virginia, then moved to South Carolina to earn my Masters in Social Work from the University of South Carolina. There I met my husband, and we decided to stay and make South Carolina our home. My post-graduate work has been primarily in outpatient mental health specializing in: trauma -informed care, family therapy for adoptive families, life transitions, anxiety, depressionand grief work. During my work as a therapist, it became increasingly apparent that focusing on mental health alone was impeding my client’s pace and progress in treatment. Therefore, I pursued further training as a Certified Holistic Nutritionist and fitness instructor to help my clients with a more holistic approach. I also pull from my training in CBT, DBT, MAP Therapy, Trauma Informed Care, and Telehealth to inform my practice. In my free time you will find me cooking, at the beach, and teaching barre fitness classes.
