About My Clients
My clinical focus is on helping people cope with depression, anxiety, and stress during life transitions to remind my clients of their strengths and how these strengths can help them not only cope, but also celebrate these new chapters in their lives. I have extensive experience in health related issues, acculturation stressors, and on parenting stressors. I strive to create a space of safety that helps my clients feel heard and understood. I am bilingual (Spanish) and bicultural (Ecuadorian).
My Background and Approach
I use an interpersonal approach to help people explore how their roles in their relationships throughout their lives have impacted their identities, thought patterns, and abilities to have their needs met throughout their lives. I use an eclectic approach including interpersonal therapy, aspects of CBT, ACT, EMDR, and EFT.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I want this world to be as inclusive, supportive, and accepting as possible and I really try to foster that in therapy. I am a 2nd generation Latina and I have addressed acculturation stressors in my life and addressed these stressors with clients in therapy too. Helping people feel accepted and understood is very important to me. At this time, I can only take insurances in the state of Colorado.
