About My Clients
I specialize in working with queer and trans people coping with anxiety, depression, and concerns of daily life. I am also polyamory friendly and ready to support people navigating open relationships. I might be a good fit for you! My approach to counseling is collaborative, meaning that I hope to build a relationship with you so that we can tackle your goals together. For trans and GNC clients, I am ready to write a letter of support in a single session.
My Background and Approach
I am a queer polyamorous agender woman (she/any). I approach counseling from a Relational-Cultural perspective which is a feminist, multicultural lens that focuses on developing a positive relationship between the therapist and the client to help support you in making positive changes in your life. This growth-fostering relationship can be used as a model to improve all other relationships in the client's life. This approach focuses on how to best support diverse and minority populations. In a practical sense, I will be striving to create a positive connection with you to help discover your true self.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I strive to bring my genuineness and my personal experience to my sessions. I want our work to be collaborative. I have a Ph.D. in counseling but you are the specialist on you. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my dog, riding my bike, playing board games, and reading, especially fiction and comics. I have also recently taken up cross-stitch, which I am enjoying greatly.
