Hi! Welcome to my page! I'm here to provide you with a safe place to cultivate calmness, find peace, and embrace your authentic self.
Psychologist in Austin, TX
The foundation of my training is based in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which is just a fancy way of saying that I help my clients better understand the relationship between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. By learning to recognize your thinking patterns you can identify what thoughts are unhelpful and are keeping you stuck in that anxious spiral.
As a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200), I love incorporating a variety of mindfulness, meditation, and yoga practices into my therapy.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy includes four domains of skills, including mindfulness (being in the present moment), emotion regulation (learning how to manage your emotions), distress tolerance (how to handle those moments of seemingly unbearable negative emotions), and interpersonal effectiveness (ways to interact more effectively with others). I teach these skills to clients to help them better cope with their emotions and improve their relationships with others.
Maybe you worry excessively over everyday things. Perhaps you feel stressed, tense, restless, or find yourself lying awake in bed worrying. Perhaps it’s hard to make decisions because those what-if’s are so persistent. You may second-guess yourself or avoid things because your anxiety feels too overwhelming. My approach to anxiety builds on your strengths and resources. I’ll offer you practical tools to ensure that you leave therapy confident that you too can handle your anxiety.
You put other people’s needs ahead of your own and find yourself always trying to please others. Maybe something big has happened recently that has you questioning if you can handle the change. Perhaps you doubt yourself or don’t trust yourself to make decisions. You notice how low self-esteem impacts every aspect of your life and you're tired of letting your inner critic limit you from living your best life. I'll help you build your relationship with yourself and experience greater confidence.
