About My Clients

I work primarily with individual children, adolescents, and adults. I believe each client is the expert of themselves and all people have the capacity for growth and change.

My Background and Approach

My name is Chelsea and I am a warm and empathetic Clinical Mental Health Counselor at Serenity Zone! I have been working at Serenity Zone for almost two years, and have had the opportunity to work with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing a variety of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and substance abuse disorders. I believe trust and unconditional acceptance are essential for therapeutic growth. My approach is integrative and individualized. It incorporates humanistic, person-centered, psychodynamic, and family systems evidence based theories to help empower clients experience growth and change. I strive to help clients gain a better understanding of themselves, their emotions, and their relationships, helping them to become the best version of themselves!

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe providing the client with a safe space in which they feel supported and accepted is the basis of any positive growth-oriented therapeutic relationship. The establishment of trust between the counselor and client is significant in the client’s progress. I find that Carl Roger’s humanistic theory of human nature is one my views closely align with. His concept of unconditional positive regard which I define as complete acceptance, support, and validation, is something that I incorporate when working with almost all of my clients.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
