About My Clients

Relationships/Couples/Families seeking support from me may come from a background where they have felt invalidated, under-represented, and misunderstood. You may be seeking an opportunity for deep reflection to build language around your experiences in order to grow and feel safe. I am deeply passionate about working with families, romantic relationships, and I also provide friendship therapy for all ages!

My Background and Approach

I believe in building an authentic relationship with people I work with in order to fully acknowledge any shame or guilt that may be preventing that next step forward. I use a culturally attuned lens and look at the whole person when developing where to go in the healing process. I will create a dialogue with you to determine the best way to approach your path to your goals and growth in order for you to develop a sense of safety and connection in your healing. I value the importance of the language we use with ourselves and others since language is a large part of how we build empathy and connection. I take a collaborative approach in order to empower you while also checking in when you are ready for tools towards change. I utilize mindfulness practices for feelings of sadness, nervousness, worry, overwhelm, and relationship hurts.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe in community and supporting one another. I fully stand with the Black Lives Matter movement and am an active member in the LGBTQIA+ community. I believe in taking action towards change and do so as a Adjunct Professor at different Universities and by participating in educational trainings, book clubs, and conversations in my personal/academic life about actively dismantling oppressive systems. I also believe that as someone working in the mental health field, it is my responsibility to maintain my personal mental health while continuously advocating for those I work with. I believe that it is important to normalize emotions and share authentically in order to build bridges with ourselves and others. I do my best to break down my colonized education and translate that into working with others in order to foster relationships. It is important to me that you feel you can candidly talk with me and be an active part of your personal growth.
