About My Clients
My approach is strength-based and insight focused. We will reflect on your experiences both past and present so I can understand better what matters to you so we can focus on helping you connect to your values more often. I am particularly interested and effective in working with individuals who have experienced religious or spiritual trauma and are now wrestling with their faith and are trying to sort through how this has impacted their self perception and relationships.
My Background and Approach
My specialty areas include those struggling with religious or spiritual trauma and grief and loss. I have a Bachelors degree in Psychology with a minor in Biblical Studies from Colorado Christian University and a Masters degree in Professional Counseling from Argosy University/Atlanta. I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Colorado. I spent five years studying Comparative Religion at Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, CA where I learned a deep respect for the many gifts that all aspects of spirituality and the many faith traditions have brought to my life and growth process. This informs much of the work I do with clients. I am a strong believer in our ability to overcome incredible odds, great pain, and deep sadness. I consider it a great honor to be a part of this process on behalf of my clients. I believe you will find that I am open, honest, and understanding of how difficult it is to risk being truly seen.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe deeply in diversity and am a strong supporter of a range of social justice issues. I support the black lives matters movement, the LGBTQ community, interfaith organizations, and organizations that help promote marginalized communities in all areas of life. I believe that all people have the strengths inside them that can help them heal. My job is only to help guide people to these places of strength so they can heal themselves. Of course, we all need help and sometimes and there are great resources in the world that can come from all places; both known and maybe even unknown-at least for a time.
