Personal growth is critical to every part of your journey. I believe in coaching my clients to the next level - whatever that looks for you. I believe in your potential to do anything and I am here to help you grow personally and professionally. My approach to this is helping you identifying goals, steps to accomplishing those goals, and assisting you in unlocking/exploring your very best self. I am dedicated to ensuring that you become the person you envision.
Navigating life transitions can be extremely tough. Whether you've just moved 3000 miles across the country, accepted a new job, left a long term relationship, experienced a significant lost, or life just isn't working how you planned? I am here to help you navigate change, adjust to change, and find a balance that works for you. Life transitions can be draining but I am here to make sure that yours don't drain you.
Burnout is defined as "a state of emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion caused by excessive and prolonged stress. It occurs when you feel overwhelmed, emotionally drained, and unable to meet constant demands. As the stress continues, you begin to lose the interest and motivation that led you to take on a certain role in the first place." I help my clients navigate burnout by working with them to establish clear and healthy boundaries.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a psychotherapy that is designed to help people to heal from traumatic life experiences. I am a Black EMDR therapist and one of the reasons I pursued this approach is my belief that EMDR is highly effective for PTSD and anxiety in Black women. EMDR has been praised by folks like Jameela Jamil, Mel B, Sandra Bullock, Prince Harry, and Paris Jackson.
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a form of psychological treatment that is effective in treating depression, anxiety, and an array of mental health symptoms. I've used CBT to help my clients learn to recognize distortions in their thinking and develop a greater sense of confidence in their abilities. With CBT, we will identify how previous life experiences have changed thoughts and beliefs. We will then look at how those thoughts have influenced current feelings and behaviors.
I use Psychodynamic therapy to get to the source of emotional turmoil. This occurs through self-reflection, self-examination, and cultivating a space that encourages clients to transparently process their experiences (both the good and bad). My goal is to elucidate and eliminate the barriers hindering you from living your absolute best life. Through psychodynamic therapy, we will identify your attachment style, strengths, core beliefs, and assess your ability to set boundaries.
