About My Clients
Do you long to feel connected to others and experience deep joy and an abundant life? Is something blocking you from finding these things and making you feel stuck? What pains from your past and worries about your future are keeping you from being able to be fully present in the “right here and now?” I enjoy working with individuals who have experienced some tough things - like trauma, anxiety, and depression. I am also passionate about and trained in working with couples.
My Background and Approach
I will use a variety of approaches with you during our time together. I’m holistic, I help you to connect fully with your mind, body, and spirit. I’m trained to use EMDR, a treatment to help you experience healing from the past and unhook negative thoughts preventing you from moving forward. I’m trained in the Gottman Method, a scientific and research-based treatment to help couples save and improve their relationships. I’m eclectic, I have developed diverse perspectives in my graduate work, clinical training, and experience. I’m a curious learner, I love to research and attend trainings on various topics to enrich my therapy skills.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe the relationship between a therapist and client is one of collaboration, respect, and kindness. My clients appreciate the calm and support I show to make them feel comfortable opening up in the therapy room. Yet, I am not afraid to also bring direct feedback or new ideas to challenge a belief that might be blocking you from experiencing progress and life to the fullest. I like to hear about your past and present relationships along with patterns of behaviors and thoughts. This is so I can help you experience “a-ha” moments and breakthroughs to change your future. I’ll even give you some tools and strategies to use along your path of discovery, along with a book recommendation…or two!
