Hello, my name is Connie and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New York State.
Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Yorktown, NY
I have worked extensively with people of all ages as they experience various transitions within the life cycle.
Anxiety can be crippling and incapacitating, but by learning "grounding" exercises, mindfulness techniques and behavioral chain analyses, I can help you recognize and identify triggers so you can conquer those awful feelings of dread and avoidance.
We all experience sadness, but depression is a state of mind that can leave us feeling so alone and isolated. I incorporate a strengths based model and through motivational interviewing, as well as dialectal behavioral therapy techniques, we will work on ways to improve coping and to let go of your emotional suffering.
Through my experiences as a clinical supervisor, manager and director for various social service program in NYC, I enjoy assisting young professionals in identifying and nurturing his/her/their strengths, supporting their goals, and guiding them through challenges.
I studied various aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy during my time at Columbia University and have practiced this modality of treatment for decades now. It is truly exciting when I see clients develop the tools for mindfulness and begin learning how there are no "right" or "wrong" feelings, just "right" or "wrong" actions.

I am a devoted follower of Marsha Linehan's work! Its very exciting for me to share with patients her teachings of "Wise" mind, "Whole" mind, and "Emotional" mind. I have conducted both individual and groups sessions on Emotional Regulation Skills building for the past 10 years.
