Anxiety is a useful part of life. It keeps us on our toes! But when anxiety gets out of hand we pay the price. Learning how to turn your anxiety around, trigger your calmness, and modify your prospective can help you feel more creative, happy, and unburdened.
I use three approaches to counseling, a Cognitive Behavioral approach, an Existential-Humanistic approach and a mind-body focused therapy called Brainspotting. This means that during sessions we will focus on your perceptions and personal beliefs that contribute to challenges, as well as the things that give your life meaning and purpose. We can also target emotions and memories stored in the body and mind to support your own self-regulation.
When unexpected changes occur in our lives, sometimes we need support understanding, accepting, and making space for the impacts. Some symptoms might include: nightmares, panic attacks, intense crying, confusion, and feeling lost. Please reach out for support.
Untreated trauma can cause part of you to stop developing, living, moving through life in a way that feels meaningful. I am passionate about helping others heal from traumatic experiences.
Parenting is nonstop, full of snap decisions, and often thankless. Parenting can trigger us to act in ways that can surprise us. For these reasons, we as parents can feel unsupported. I have extensive experience counseling parents from those considering becoming a parent to parenting adults.
Whether you are considering a job change, feeling burnt out at your current position, feeling disrespected, or are just simply depressed when you think about work, therapy can help!
