About My Clients
My clients are often successful in their careers, motivated, and empathetic. They often suffer from low self-esteem or perfectionism and are often really hard on themselves and feel like an imposter. They seek validation and help creating goals and techniques to be their best selves. Issues that I often see include relationship issues, depression, generalized and social anxiety. I often serve those who identify as part of the LGBTQ community and engage in non-monogamous relationships.
My Background and Approach
My background includes a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Because of this, my approach is very systems and relationship centric, including the relationship with ourselves. I have experience in several non-profit and private-practice settings which have allowed me to see clients with a variety of mood, anxiety, psychotic and personality disorders. My approach is super collaborative, and I create a unique space for each client depending on their specific needs. Theories that I often use include systems theory, client-centered, Internal Family Systems, Emotion Focused, and Experiential techniques.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I'm a proud member of Minneapolis that supports local businesses, the LGBTQ community and the Black Lives Matter movement. I have two adopted cats, a dog and a one year old daughter that I take care of at home. I pride myself in also being a wife, sister, daughter and friend. I value my relationships above all else, and I believe that's helpful in my role as a therapist. As a true Minnesotan, I also love the outdoors, including spending all the time outside I can (especially during the summer months).
