My Background and Approach

I have an existential focus in my practice that presumes that all individuals seek meaning, purpose, and self-actualization. I believe that anxiety and depression are symptoms that derive from a lack of meaning and purpose. My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I left the managed care industry after six years to pursue a full-time career in mental health counseling. I have been a social worker and I have provided counseling in a private practice as well as outpatient settings. I had a desire to make an impact helping others from early childhood. I was the youngest of seven children and I believe that through that experience I developed the power of observation and curiosity. Those traits are fundamental to being a good therapist as well as a good client. I have an existential focus in my practice that presumes that all individuals seek meaning, purpose, and self-actualization. I believe that anxiety and depression are symptoms that derive from a lack of meaning and purpose.
