Depth therapy focuses on uncovering the underlying origins of issues in your life and providing you with a better understanding of your authentic Self. Key elements of the process include developing a strong therapeutic alliance, increasing your awareness of your unconscious, experiencing your emotions, removing maladaptive coping skills/addictive behaviors in your life that are no longer serving you, and exploring formative life experiences and patterns.

Through a depth psychology approach, I work with individuals who are contemplating, embarking upon or acclimating to a transition in their lives. Transitions are a rich time of self discovery and growth. During transitions, we are more open to our inner selves and able to redefine our identity and our life goals. I enjoy working with individuals who are striving to lead a life more meaningful to themselves.

We often experience symptoms of depression, loneliness, worthlessness, lack of motivation and low self-esteem when something in the psyche needs to be attended to. Our symptoms of depression serve a vital purpose in causing us to realize something is 'off'. Through depth therapy, we shine a lot on the underlying origins of the depressive symptoms showing up on the surface with the understanding that only through self awareness and acceptance are we able to become whole.

We often mask our experiences of pain and aspects of our true Self by distracting ourselves, worrying and over-worrying about things, and rushing from one form of temporary comfort to another. We feel on edge and restless. With the support of depth therapy, we seek to remove the anxious presentation at the surface and get to the core of the Self. Through awareness and acceptance of your authentic Self, you are able to lead a life that is more fulfilling and complete.

Through a Humanistic Therapy approach, we look at the therapy client as the individual that you are. Therapy is tailored to the needs of each individual. We utilize your strengths in the process and work to develop more insight into your functioning and life choices.

Through a psychodynamic approach, we seek to uncover the origins of issues. We spend time exploring experiences in your family of origin. We explore the development of your personality and formative life experiences, including beliefs you have developed about who you are and relation to the rest of the world. This approach seeks to improve your level of functioning and satisfaction with your life by addressing your core issues and the origins of problem development for lasting change.
