About My Clients

I specialize in the treatment of kids, teens, as well as folks with special needs. I work with parents, families, and adult individuals as well. My background is in working in schools with kids on the spectrum, students with behavioral challenges, as well as those with other developmental disabilities. I also have a strong commitment to working with the LGBTQ+ communities as an ally, particularly when kids or teens are in processes of questioning, coming out, or transitioning.

My Background and Approach

I am a strengths-based and trauma-informed Expressive Arts Therapist, specializing in working with kids, teens, and their parents. This means I often utilize multiple modalities of arts-based practices (poetry, visual arts, drama, movement, sound, and/or music) as a way to deepen therapeutic work and to explore and express what cannot otherwise be said. In addition to the arts, I utilize somatic approaches, Cognitive-Behavioral techniques, skill-building, mindfulness, and hold the mindset of viewing an individual within their family system, for a holistic approach to mental health and overall wellness. I also bring a strong social justice lens into my work, always keeping the client at the center, while being mindful of how context, systems, and privilege impact wellbeing.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I have a strong belief that all people are deserving of love, connection, support, healing, and wellness. Life is messy and constantly changing! Whether you are experiencing a major life transition, relationship or career change, whether you are feeling alone in the world, or simply feeling overwhelmed, stuck or lost, I’m here to help you navigate your way through. Finding your bearings and standing strong are possible. Developing a loving and supportive community are possible. Growing within your self and finding your voice and your power are possible. Increased happiness and freedom from self-doubt are possible. I will stand alongside you, your teen, or your child, and help guide toward a healthier, happier self and family. We are wired for connection. As we are wounded in relationship, we heal in relationship, when we are seen, heard, and respected for being our most authentic, unique selves by another.
