I chose personal growth as a specialty to be listed here, as I appreciate the broadness of the term, the way it rejects pathology, and how much room it leaves for interpretation. Each of us as individuals is highly unique to our own experience. Personal growth in therapy can refer to a wide variety of elements in the journey of self-discovery and change. Specific goals in therapy can evolve over time, but personal growth will remain as a constant and refers to the individual as a whole.

I have clinical experience providing individuals, couples, and partners a wide variety of non-monogamous relationship structures with therapy surrounding attachment and how it impacts our thoughts, beliefs, self-perception, behaviors, patterns, and relationships with ourselves and others. I am a kink-aware, polyamory and consensual non-monogamy friendly, sex positive therapist.

I am passionate about working with folks navigating faith transitions while exploring sexuality and/or gender, and have specific experience working with individuals and couples navigating a faith transition from the LDS (previously referred to as Mormon) faith.

I have experience working with individuals, couples, and partners in addressing how past experiences and relationships from early childhood on impacts our thoughts, beliefs, self-perception, behaviors, patterns, and relationships with ourselves and others. I am a kink-aware, polyamory and consensual non-monogamy friendly, sex positive therapist.

I selected personal growth as a specialty because I appreciate it's broadness as a term and the way it implies a rejection of pathologizing the whole person. We are all unique. Goals in therapy may evolve over time as we grow, change, and encounter new experiences, but personal growth remains an overarching theme throughout a journey with healing and self-discovery.

I believe that in order for therapy to be effective, as a therapist, my first aim is developing trust with you. I honor you as the expert in your experiences, and see myself as a supportive guide on your journey of self-discovery. This means I tailor my approach to what fits with your needs through listening to you and collaborating on the approach to therapy utilizing a combination of my skills and training and what feels supportive and helpful for you in your process.

My approach to therapy is informed by attachment theory, the theory that our early childhood experiences, relationships with caregivers, and the subsequent experiences and relationships throughout life impact the way we show up in the present moment, perceive ourselves, others, and even the world. In therapy, you work towards understanding how your experiences have impacted you, as a part of a process of healing and growth.

With a holistic approach, you are centered and honored as a whole person. This means including not only your thoughts in therapy, but also your feelings, experiences, beliefs, all of the wonderful things that make up who you are. Holistic therapy involves not only the mind but the body, spirit, and whole self.
