About My Clients

Those I work with often have a background of feeling like they have to perform or achieve in order to be worthy of love and acceptance. They often fear judgment and rejection and will make themselves small to accommodate others, without so much as a second thought. This eventually leads to struggles in relationships, either romantic, professional, or even just friendships as needs are not expressed for fear of being seen as “needy” or asking too much.

My Background and Approach

I have worked in just about every scenario imaginable within the mental health space. This means I have a great understanding of the system of care, the strengths and the weaknesses, as well as the challenges each individual may face based on their background. I work extensively with people who have experienced trauma and those who struggle to speak up for themselves and set boundaries. Learning to see our own self worth is often a significant challenge for many of us, and beginning to take that on requires patience, determination, and reassurance. I view my role as helping you find the self love and acceptance you have long deserved and sought. There is no judgment here and at the end of the day my job is to help you see your worth while gently calling you on your bullshit and helping you recognize the patterns that hold you back. Here you can and should be authentic in preparation for doing so elsewhere in the world.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My core belief is that we are all humans and we all deserve the same rights and experiences as each other. I recognize as a cishet white man I have a level of privilege many I work with may not. I speak openly and fervently that all of us are someone’s child and therefore all of us are deserving of unconditional love and acceptance. When we are denied that, and feel we have to hide part of who we are, it creates significant pain that we feel on an ongoing basis for much of our lives. I support and believe in Black Lives Matter, am allied with the LGBTQIA+ community and am always striving to do better and gain a deeper understanding of others experiences. I am a parent and a dog person.
