I partner with my clients to empower them to make the changes necessary to bring their realities in line with the lives they truly want.

Self-Esteem and Sense of Self are very important areas in which I help clients. Many clients come to therapy feeling badly about themselves. It is common for very accomplished people to begin therapy reporting feeling like an imposter. Others present with feeling unlovable if people really knew them. Through therapy my clients learn to accept themselves as they are and at the same time to increasingly live in ways that reaffirm their worth, materializing their core values and abilities.
When people are Depressed they see things as globally bad, frought with unchangeable problems, and selectively perceive themselves in negative ways. As a result the person is prone not to do things that will get positve results and more likely to act in ways that will get negative outcomes. This sets up a viscious self fulfilling cycle. In my work with clients, I help them to see opportunities and possibilities that will enable them to act in ways that set up conditions for positive results.
Family conflicts can take many forms. The difficulties can be between parents and a child, siblings, or even involve issues with extended family. Sometimes the difficulties relate to a current event but other times the issues are more chronic and longstanding. My approach to working with families involves combining effective communication and conflict resolution skill development with a blend of family systems therapy and structural family therapy tecniques.
