About My Clients
I have worked with dozens of adults and teens of diverse backgrounds for anxiety, depression, and trauma, along with a variety of other conditions, including obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic, grief, and addiction. I also practice EMDR and Lifespan Integration.
My Background and Approach
You deserve a therapist who is a good fit for you. A nonjudgmental listener who accepts you for who you are while also facilitating the change you want to see. A professional who can provide valuable insights within a safe space to share and explore. Someone who sees the value in understanding and processing your personal history without losing focus on the present. I believe that most people's distress has roots in lived experiences of neglect, trauma, and/or attachment wounds. Together we can work to identify and treat the causes of anxiety, depression, compulsive behavior, and PTSD. I practice EMDR and Lifespan Integration, two treatment methods that harness your brain's own abilities to adapt and heal. If this sounds like a reasonable path forward, then I would be honored to walk it alongside you. I offer initial 30-minute consultations, free of charge, to see if I might be a good fit for you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I identify as Unitarian and appreciate the wisdom in all faiths, with particular personal experience in Buddhism and Protestant Christianity. I am a gay man and Japanese-American from Hawaii.
