About My Clients
I view the ideal client as someone who is ready to recognize the challenges that are in front of them and are willing, with professional guidance, to work through to the best solution and outcome for themselves. Clients should understand that they are the only person that can affect a change for the better.
My Background and Approach
I bring to my counseling career both the knowledge of my counselor training and a lifetime of knowledge and experience from healthcare. I am capable of assisting both men and women with care-giver burn-out, compassion-fatigue, workplace burn-out, men's issues including adolescent males' issues. I also have experience with couple counseling and parent-child counseling.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
While each of us is a unique individual, I recognize that most people also live within a social environment where networks of personal interaction influence us all. This is why I will use the Bowen Family Systems theory when working with individuals or couples. I am eager to use Family Systems theory because it places an importance on an awareness of emotions, clear thinking, recognizing patterns of behavior, and gaining new skills. I welcome working with clients that have anxiety, depression, suffered from traumatic events, adult survivors of childhood trauma, and care-givers’ fatigue.
