Through therapy we will work on increasing communication, identifying styles of relating, learning healthy conflict management, and finding ways to increase healthy boundaries. Family therapy is intricate work as every individual brings their own personality and difficulties when relating to other family members. Together we will work on stopping toxic cycles and increasing cohesiveness and understanding within the home.

Living in a constant state of worry or concern, and feeling unsettled is beyond uncomfortable. Anxiety is one of the most common symptoms therapists see, especially in adolescents. Pressures from school, social media, and figuring out your identity as you grow up can be overwhelming. I can guide you in gaining confidence, learning strategies, and being able to learn to let go to help clear your mind, relax your body, and stop the chatter of non-stop thoughts.

If you're reading this, I imagine the daily pressures of life along with the need to do everything right and be "perfect" became too much. Food becomes something to comfort, numb, or restrain from. Soon all you are able to do is think about, plan around, and focus on is food and body image. Sound familiar? This doesn’t have to be your life. Through therapy, you can learn to let go of food ruling your life and learn to have more self-compassion and acceptance for yourself. ​

I have always strived to bring family members into the healing process, when appropriate, to ensure everyone is doing their part to help healing take place. Everyone is a part of many different systems, whether that be school, work, your social circle, ethnic groups, family, etc. All these systems come together to impact us, and ensuring we address and have awareness of these can help up figure out what we have control over and what we don't.

I have taught many DBT groups and skills throughout my career. I love using DBT as it can be really helpful to guide clients to have a deeper understanding of how they interact with their emotions, themselves, and others. All of us struggle at times in our lives, and DBT can help identify patterns of thinking and reacting that may have been helpful at one time in our lives, though no longer serve us. I help you in breaking these patterns and starting new, healthier ones.
